Supreme Interpreter Of The Classical Sitar

Arundhati was indoctrinated in the subtle art of playing the sitar when only in her teens. For her graduation in music, her first program was in Dharwad in front of Pt Bhimsen Joshi, after which she has been giving programs at Mumbai, Hubli, Dharwad, Panji, Shiroda, Goa, Kundgol Belgaum, Gokak & London. She has also been training students for the past 25 years.

Arundhati plays sitar in the Kirana gharana tradition but is driven by the urge to experiment and innovate; she has devised sitar renditions that are unique and highly individualistic. With an in-depth study of sitar for over 45 years, she has developed programs based on “shree Krishna Leela” & “Swarangan”.
